Lately I have been super excited for Monday. Don’t get me wrong, it has taken me years to become a Monday lover! I, like most people, would spend most of my Sunday evenings dreading the start of a long and dreary week. But fear not, because I am sharing with you how you can make Mondays your best friend!
#1 Plan out your week on Sunday night
Planning is the key to a stress-free life! Same goes if you want to have a productive and efficient week. Planning your upcoming week in advance will allow you to keep your mind clear and relaxed. An example of your plan for the week could look like this:
Monday: Write and post blog post
Tuesday: Gym
Wednesday: Catch up with Carly for coffee
Thursday: Shoot photos for next week’s Instagram posts
Saturday: Jasmine’s birthday dinner
You can see here that I have skipped Friday and Sunday. For me these are the two days which I always leave free. The days which you decide to leave free may be different but it is always important to do this so that you can slot in any last minute events or tasks which come up or simply leave aside as allocated time for yourself.
#2 Keep Monday evening free of social activities
After a Monday of peak efficiency, the last thing you may want to do is go out with your group of friends for dinner or drinks and that is totally fine! In fact, I would suggest keeping your Monday night free of social events. Instead opt for a relaxing bath and face mask. While this may be something you usually leave aside as a pamper treat at the end of the week, why not schedule it for the start of the week? This will also help you to have a more productive Monday since you will have something relaxing to look forward to.
#3 Complete a task first thing on Monday morning
The best way to kick start your Monday is to complete a task first thing. You can start off by doing the task that you have been putting off for a while or one that seems pretty annoying and difficult. If you do this first, then you will find that the rest of the day comes easily. There is also nothing wrong with starting with an simple task because you will still feel the same sense of accomplishment and achieve the momentum you need to have a productive remainder of the day.
#4 Choose your outfits on Sunday
There is something to be taken from Mark Zuckerberg’s habit of wearing the same t-shirt everyday. “I really want to clear my life to make it so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community,” Zuckerberg said, after making note that he has “multiple same shirts.” How genius is that! Now, I’m not suggesting wearing the same thing every day because hello, fashion is life! Instead, the best thing to do is plan a few outfits for the week in advance. Therefore, you aren’t left feeling stressed the morning before work or on the day of a big event.
Today I am wearing my version of “the same t-shirt everyday”, which is jeans, a t-shirt and sneakers. This is my uniform for when I want to be stylish (always) but effortless.
What are your tips to have a better Monday?

Agreed, thanks Vanessa!
I am a Monday hater, I’ll admit, but it’s true that not every Monday is so terrible. I definitely do #2 and 4 of your list so I don’t have to think that much in the morning thus allowing my brain to get into the full-working-week mood slowly 🙂 Love your combo of jeans+tee+Vans, such a classic! Last thing from me would be to wish you a lovely Monday 😛 Xx

First of all, these jeans look amazing on you!! I have now gotten rid of most of my distressed denim things, but you might just be inspiring me with these!
So many good tips and ideas, I love the feeling on a Sunday night of going to bed having made up a plan. And I agree, Monday night social things just make the week confusing.

Such a great set of tips – I really need to get better at planning my outfits for the week ahead, I’m so lazy about it and always end wasting so much time in the mornings because I’m disorganised.
I also love the idea of a Monday night pamper session! Mondays are so grim with the whole week ahead, giving yourself a treat to look forward to is a brilliant shout. I’m going to have to try it next Monday!
